Kaleidoscope is an AMAZING new book we discovered while at the Houston, TX Quilt Market. The author Melanie Hurlston and her sister Rosalie Quinlan have recently launched the company Melly and Me. The Kaleidoscope book has patterns and instructions for 12 different projects conveniently tucked inside the book! The Mushroom Backpack sang to me the moment I saw its little preciousness hanging from the Melly and Me booth at Q.M. I had to make it up! It was pretty simple to construct, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. All the shapes were machine appliquéd onto the fabric which makes the process easier and faster than doing it by hand. I loved making this backpack so much, and I can’t wait to make more projects from this book to show y’all!
Oh ya, did I mention they’re from Australia? I never knew about the crafting world in Australia untill Q.M., and now that I do… I can’t get enough of it!! I have more Australian Q.M. finds to show you soon!
